Cushion cover measures 18x18 inches and is backed with an orange cotton fabric. The cushion is lined with matching cotton lining and has a zipper closing.

Lord Krishna depicted here is the eighth incarnation of the supreme god Vishnu in Hinduism. The word Krishna means One With Dark Complexion and One Who Attracts All. Based on his name, Krishna is often depicted as dark or blue-skinned. Krishna is also known by various other names, epithets and titles, which reflect his many associations.
The Srikalahasti style of Kalamkari, wherein the "kalam" or pen is used for free hand drawing of the subject and filling in the colours, is entirely hand worked. This style flowered around temples in Andhra Pradesh, India and so had an almost religious identity - scrolls, temple hangings, chariot banners and the like, depicted deities and scenes taken from the great Hindu epics - Ramayana. Mahabarata, Puranas and the mythological classics. Only natural dyes are used in Kalamkari and it involves seventeen painstaking steps alternating between dyeing and painted each color at a time.
